Description: On May 22, 2011, when an EF 5 Tornado struck Joplin, Missouri, causing widespread destruction, devastation and death, ACCESS Family Care, a federally qualified health center in Southwest Missouri, had a Disaster Plan and activated it. In this Webinar Chief Operating Officer, Debra Davidson, PhD, and Medical Director, Charles Bentlage, M.D., describe the extent of the damage and the active role their organization played in the disaster recovery working closely with other elements of the team and with the support of other Community Health Centers and the Missouri Primary Care Association. They will discuss the lessons they learned and emphasize the valuable role that Community Health Centers can play in disaster situations.
